Age
Age is a natural cause of irregular periods in women, specifically during puberty and menopause. During puberty irregular periods is common for the first one or two years. Similarly, as women approach menopause, between the age of 45 to 55, senescent changes of the central nervous system begin to occur, which has an impact on their reproductive and sexual function.
Pregnancy
Early pregnancy is a common cause of irregular periods in healthy women who had intercourse recently. Use a pregnancy test kit to rule this out.
